Above, you checked the file hasn't changed. Here you see why the date can't be faked either: every certificate leaves a fingerprint written to the Bitcoin blockchain. Not even we can alter it.
Your fingerprint sits inside a block, and each block is chained to the next by its own hash. Rewriting your date would mean redoing every later block in Bitcoin at once: in practice, impossible.
When you verify your certificate we give you an .ots proof. Drop it, together with the original PDF, at opentimestamps.org and the Bitcoin network itself confirms the block and the date.
Bitcoin is used only as a public, permanent register. It reveals nothing about how the order was paid or any customer data.
